Electromechanical Positioning Systems

High Speed Precision Systems Introduction

Positioning systems needed for many of today’s high technology applications must satisfy an ever increasing demand for high throughput to be included with the need for extreme precision. Semiconductor, fiber optics, computer peripherals, metrology and other high-end industries require positioning systems which demonstrate quick response, high acceleration, high velocity, and fast settling time, in conjuction with micron and submicron level positioning.

Daedal’s "Linear Servo Motor" product group is designed to satisfy this attribute combination of performance and precision. Products and systems in this section feature advanced direct-drive technology, which enables payloads to be directly driven by highly efficient brushless servo motors. Linear tables in this group are driven by direct-drive brushless linear servo motors. They are not subject to efficiency and performance compromises, common to screw or belt drives when converting "rotary to linear" motion. The same is true of the rotary tables offered here. Direct support of the payload by the rotary servo motor drive negates the inefficiencies of converting "rotary-to-rotary" motion, which is common to gear driven rotary tables.

Multi-axis systems designed around Daedal linear and rotary servo motor driven tables demonstrate optimum performance/precision combination. When it has to be fast and it has to be accurate, it has to be a Daedal High Speed Precision solution.
